Resurrecting a Ruin
Transforming a dilapidated building into a luxury residence presents technical and regulatory hurdles far beyond a standard renovation. The original structure, a shell of compromised masonry and failing timber, required sensitive yet robust intervention. We successfully navigated the complexities of securing Listed Building status while obtaining consent for an extensive external overhaul, including a total roof replacement and bespoke, heritage-compliant windows. Our engineers designed a bespoke internal support system to stabilise the historic shell, creating a safe foundation for a high-specification, modern family interior.

We replaced the collapsed roof with traditional materials and installed bespoke windows that meet modern thermal standards without losing the building's historic aesthetic.
We reimagined the internal layout to create a contemporary kitchen and living space, featuring high-end finishes and vaulted ceilings.
Hidden steelwork was integrated to support the new roof and floor levels, allowing for the creation of spacious, light-filled rooms that flow into the garden.
We acted as the lead agent for all Planning and Listed Building Consent applications, ensuring every detail met the strict requirements of the local council.
